About Us - History

•  A new era dawned in the history of Kashmir when two stalwarts of India, a statesman the then Hon’ble CM of J & K, Sh. Mufti Mohammed Sayeed and General NC Vij , PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, ADC, the then Chief Of Army Staff conceived and embarked on a mission to establish a residential school par excellence with an objective of providing quality education to the children of J & K.

•  A 12.43 Crore project was planned under Sadbhavana. The state government contributed to the project by providing 248 canals and all  infrastructure for water supply and electricity.

•  On 26th November 2004, the foundation stone was laid by the then Hon’ble CM of J&K, Sh. Mufti Mohammed Sayeed and General  N C VIJ,  PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, ADC, the then Chief of Army Staff.

•  Under the aegis of HQ Victor Force and overall supervision of HQ 15 corps, AGPS Pahalgam begin acquiring its shape. After three years of meticulous planning and hard work, the gates of the school were finally opened for the children of J & K on 02nd June 2008.

•  The school was formally inaugurated on 12th of November 2008 by then Chief of Army Staff Gen Deepak Kapoor PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC.
