Admission Procedure

 

General

1. Fresh admissions to the School will be made prior to the start of the new session i.e. in month of Feb & March .  Admission to children coming on transfer from out station can be made at anytime during the year and they will not be denied admission, subjected to, however to the stipulation laid down by the CBSE in Classes IX-XII.

2. Lateral Admission. Following category of children will be admitted based on transfer Certificate (TC) from previous schools, without an admission test:-

(a)  Children who are coming after passing /promotion to the next class on TC from another AGPS/Army School/KV between the period 01 Apr to 31 Jul.

(b)   Children who have studied for 10 academic months in another APS/Army School/KV and are seeking admission after 31 Jul.

(c)  An evaluation test may be taken in respect of these children to facilitate further academic coaching and allocation of sections.  However such an evaluation test will not be treated as admission test and child entitled lateral admission will be allowed to attend classes within 48 hours of reporting to the school.

3. Admission Test. The admission test will follow the under mentioned procedure:-      

(a) The admission to school will be in VI, VII & VIII class only.  Exceptional cases higher classes can be considered after due permission from the Chairman. 

(b) The school will initiate a minute sheet giving out vacancies and proposed dates of admission test.

4. Admission to Class XI. Meeting the eligibility criteria on account of minimum percentages does not guarantee admission.  It will depend on relative merit and availability of seats.  No special weightage will be given for any stream to any student. 

5. Subjects for Admission Tests. The admission test will be held in the following subjects:-

VI General English (20), General Knowledge (20), Science (20) and Mathematics (20) (MCQ's).

The Common Entrance Test is based on the syllabus of previous class as per NCERT Syllabus. There are almost 60-65 seats available which are filled through the exam on merit basis.

XI

 

PCM / PCB:Gen. English(20), Mathematics (20) and Science (40) (Physics, Chemistry & Biology)

 6. Age Limit. The age for admission to various classes in the schools shall be regulated as indicated below.  However relaxation in age can be done by the Board of Officers:-

For Admission the student should complete the under mentioned years to class of age on 01 April of the year in which admission is sought:

XI                                                      16 Years
