Activities - Co Curricular Activities

The school provides ample scope for the development of creative skills of students in fine arts and crafts. Opportunities are provided to the boys for participating in debates, dramatics, music, art, craft, photography, trekking, etc. The school encourages development of hobbies.  Educational trips form an integral part of training. A large number of activities under the socially useful productive works (SUPW) are held with a view to make the boys self-reliant and appreciate the dignity of labour and self help.

BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

• Occasional visits to banks, post offices, handloom workshops and town play a vital role in improving the intellect of the students and widening their horizon.
• Educational excursions to Rajasthan, Bombay, Goa and different places of interest allows the students to absorb the different cultures, customs and traditions of the country which apart from educating them, strengthens the confidence and intellect of  students.
• Teachers and Students Exchange Programme provides an opportunity to exchange ideas and further groom them for a bright future.
• An old saying goes “if your hobby becomes your profession, you will always love your work”. Astronomy, dramatics, environment, movie making, photography are some of the few club activities planned for the students.

NATIONAL CADET CORPS

NCC is compulsory for all boys in the school. A Half Senior Company And A Junior Division Company of NCC are exclusively attached to the school. Qualified instructional staff is posted to impart NCC training.

GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING CELL

• School’s guidance and counseling cell imparts information to the students about various career options and admission procedures for different professional colleges and universities.
• Duties of the counselors are also sought to identify the psychological problems of the students and subsequently providing them professional help and support by way of organizing interactive sessions with the students.
• Workshops are also conducted in the school from time to time for the teachers with the aim to sensitize them with the needs of students.

1.    In order to search for new talent in the school the Talent and Hunt show was organized in school on 16 April 2016.

2.    This was organized for the students of class VI th to IX th.

3.    Students from all the houses actively participated in this and delivered very good performance. This includes following activities: 

       a) Singing

       b) Dancing

       c) Acting

      d) Shayari & one liners

      e) painting on music

4.    On the basis of the performance new students were distribited in various clubs functional in our school.

A total of 14 students of our school have recently proceeded for Annual Training Camp held at Nagrota,Jammu with effect from 27 April 2016.
